Bio

Coach Jamie grow up in a small town just outside of Spartanburg, SC. Her parents got job transfers and they moved to Seattle, WA when she was 16 years old. She has always been a sports/athlete since she was young. Her dad was a big track and field guy so naturally she went into that direction. She ran track (the sprinting races, 4×1 and 4×2 relay teams and she long jumped) After high school they moved to California, up to Alaska, back to Washington and then eventually they landed back in California, where they have been since 2005. In between all that, she married her high school love and started a career in the medical field as a surgery coordinator. In 2008, they became parents and bought their first home in 2012.


She has always loved working out and being active. When she got pregnant with her son in 2008, she couldn’t be very active due to a high-risk pregnancy that she was having. After he was born it took forever to lose that weight. It took about 4 years before she got her mojo back in the gym. She never really liked taking classes or one on ones with a trainer. She just wanted to get in and then out of the gym as fast as she could. She loved working out but hated the gym because of all the people. They took forever on the equipment and were always on their phones and taking selfies…she needed a change! Then it happened! In 2016, she met another mom while attending her son’s karate practice. They talked at every class for a while and the other mom was in great shape. Finally, she asked her what she does to stay in such good shape. She told her about Default and how CrossFit was amazing, and that she should come check it out. Jaime took her first class, and she was hooked!


About two years into her CrossFit journey, one of her coaches told her she needed to get her Level 1 certification. She had never really thought about it before, but she thought “yeah why not!” She started coaching at Default in January of 2018. Her favorite part about being a coach at Default is when an athlete who has been working so far to get that lift or do their first pull up, gets it, or does the pull up. The look of pure joy and accomplishment…that’s why!


She has so many things she likes doing in CrossFit, but her favorites are bear complex, box jumps, wall balls, and kettlebell swings. She is not a fan of cardio, even though she knows it’s good for her….so she’s been told! Jamie enjoys being in the box with her peeps and doing a good ass kicking WOD! Even outside of the box they hang out and have fun! CrossFit is community and everyone at Default has become her Family!!! She loves it here!
